Rebranding – Termas da Curia

The thermal baths of Curia (Bairrada) are one of the oldest in Portugal. This region was already known for its thermal waters during the Roman occupation of the Iberian Peninsula (somewhere before Christ), and the Romans already knew about the springs and the healing properties of their waters, calling them “aqua curiva” (healing water), hence the name of the region: “Curia” (related to healing).
The thermal baths of Vale da Mó, although much less exploited during the Roman occupation, are now one of the most sought-after in Portugal for their therapeutic properties. The properties of its waters are different from those of Curia, as they have a high concentration of iron and are especially suitable for treating blood diseases.

We created a visual identity for these historic sites of such importance to the whole region, through two meaningful logos that represent the fluid movement of water (for Curia) and the hardness of iron (for Vale da Mó).
As they share the region and its history, we wanted to give them both the same overall look, so that they could be seen as part of a whole, the Bairrada region.
